sustainable connections

GROUP EXHIBITION at PRAGOVKA GALLERY winter 2022
collaboration with SUSANE KASS

“Sustainable connections seeks to explore and create. Artists lookk for sustainibility - not only at the level of materials, but also at the level of tools. The integralk tools of this section are language, games which play with language, time spend together and retrospective reflection. The gradually emerging installation connects the present and the future throught collaborative practice. During six weeks the designated space come alive with the wors of Tomas Rocek, Susanne Kass and their guests. The creators of Sustainable Connections describe themselves as the “hacker class” and their nightmare is “creating new things over and over again trying to push time“ (McKenzie Wark - A Hacker Manifesto). Now, however, the creation of new connections is a joy and time is pushed aside.

I did a performance / reading which consisted of two “therapeutic“ exercises EFT (Emotion Freedom Technique - consisting of tapping) and TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercise) which activates body in a sense that the surroundings, language and abstractions can be perceived as an objects, other bodies. TRE is a technique by which you make your legs tremor without controlling it - it is based on a fact that animals have the ability to “shake” after traumatic experiences which humans do not possess so it has to be induced artificially. This technique opens a space where a text can be perceived as a body. I’ve read aloud my texts connected to decolonisation and climate crises.
